CAROLINA UNMANNED VEHICLES OFFERS COMPLETE 'TURN-KEY' SYSTEMS THAT ARE HIGHLY MOBILE, REQUIRE LOW MANPOWER, & ARE SUPPORTABLE

Engineering Test Unit With Aerostat 2020

Carolina Unmanned Vehicles offers you the Expeditionary Aerostat System [EAS], a family of completely mobile solutions for multiple uses.

Uses include:

  • Persistent large area surveillance

  • Long range communications (Military or civil post-disaster)

  • Wide Area Broadband Dissemination

  • Environmental / Atmospheric Research

  • VIP Protection

  • Covert electronic intelligence collection

  • Border / Maritime protection capabilities

  • Wide area Positioning, Navigation and Timing [PNT] Solutions

EAS versions include:
The Small Tactical Multi-Payload Aerostat System [STMPAS] was developed for the US Army to provide intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance capability for small tactical units in Afghanistan. It is carried by a single HMMWV trailer.
a version focused on military and Homeland Security.
STMPAS-Dual uses two trailers for larger aerostats / payloads. It retains the mobility of the single trailer version.
The Container Aerostat System(CAS) is mounted in a standard ISO container for the largest payloads.  It is particularly suited to shipboard or artic operations.

LIFTING AEROSTAT

A patented "lifting aerostat" that combines helium and wind lift so even very small sizes operate easily in high wind, allowing for operating and maintenance costs at a fraction of the cost of traditional lighter-than-air designs

Compared to towers, UAS, and aircraft, the Lifting Aerostat System has significant operational advantages for mobile surveillance and communications relay

LONG MISSION DURATION

Long mission duration of days, not hours, is one of the many benefits. The EAS blimp can be flown at a hundreds of feet / meters altitude to provide coverage 24 hours a day for a week or more without maintenance or downtime.

It covers a far larger area than
tower-based cameras and has reduced blind spots due to obstacles in the field of view

CREW &

TRANSPORT

The EAS is carried by a single HMMWV / Pickup trailer (STMPAS) or two trailers (STMPAS-Dual) and operated by a two-to four person crew

It is launched directly from the trailer Carrier and can be moved while aloft or stowed on the trailer

It requires 1/4 the setup time of a tower-based camera system

Unlike larger, semi-static aerostats, it is readily air transportable, road  & off-road mobile, & can be carried on military & commercial ships
